How to Easily Clean Your Carpet

Carpet gives our home an elegant look, a cozy ambiance too. It provides us with warmth and comfort and can even help us to be healthy. Carpet reduces airborne allergens and bacteria, giving us healthier air to breathe. It can also reduce the risk of colds, flu, and other health problems.

How to Easily Clean Your Carpet

Although the unclean carpet can also cause health problems such as skin irritation, rashes, athlete’s foot eczema, and other respiratory illness. It all can be triggered by your dirty carpet. That is why keeping your carpet clean should always be your priority. A clean carpet means a healthy body and breathable air for you and your family. Here are some ways to easily clean your carpet. Keep on reading.

Remove loose dirt with a vacuum

Getting a vacuum to clean your carpet will greatly help in keeping it clean. Cleaning it every day with a vacuum will prevent dirt from accumulating on your carpet. This is the fastest and most convenient way in cleaning it. The vacuum can pick up loose dirt, pet furs, and dry debris between fibers. The idea that vacuuming every day can cause damage to your carpet is not true, what will damage your carpet is the accumulated dirt in it. It is advisable to vacuum habitually to keep your carpet clean.

Steam Clean It

Hot water extraction is the most original way of cleaning carpets. It is popularly known as steam cleaning. Most hotels and residences in Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York City are hiring cleaners to steam clean their carpeting. It’s your choice if you can  DIY in your home or ask an expert. The professionals from a rug repair company in NYC explain to their clients first about the process of steam cleaning before they do it. However, the process of steam cleaning doesn’t involve a steam bust instead, you will inject your carpet with a detergent solution and rinse it with a very hot water solution. When done right it will leave your carpet clean and fresh smelling. It removes grimes, deep clean corners, and crevices that vacuum can not reach. It kills germs and bacteria as well. One more good factor about steam cleaning is, it is not harmful to your kids and pets since no chemicals are used but just the power of water.

Use the Power of Baking Soda

Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate is a salt composed of sodium cation and bicarbonate anion. It is usually used for cooking but it has also a variety of household use as well as health benefits.  Like when you combine baking soda and vinegar, it can remove the stubborn stain on your carpet. In combining these two a carbonic acid will be produced. Carbonic acid is a common ingredient in most cleaning products. This mixture creates a lot of foam that helps break down tough smudges. It can also deodorize your carpet as well. Try sprinkling baking soda on your carpet, leave it overnight. On the following day vacuum it and voila there’s no more pet odor. Try using this sometime.
